One-Handed Solving (OH) Speedcubing Guide
**One-Handed Solving (OH)** is an official World Cube Association (WCA) event. It involves solving a standard 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube using only one hand. Speedcubers generally choose their non-dominant hand (usually left hand) because it allows better access to the R and U faces using the index, pinky, and ring fingers.
OH cubing requires adapting standard algorithm notation, adjusting grip styling to avoid dropping the cube, and using the table surface to support turns.
OH Finger Tricks & Grips
The Basic Grip
Hold the cube with your thumb on the front-bottom-left corner, and your middle and ring fingers supporting the back-bottom-left. This leaves your index and pinky fingers completely free to make turns on the top (U) and right (R) faces.
Finger Movements
Perform **U** moves using your index finger (flicking from the back) and **U'** moves using either your index finger (pulling from the front) or your left thumb. R turns are typically executed by pushing the right face against a table or using your pinky and ring fingers to rotate it.
